The Monkees
-
Monkees Micky Dolenz and Michael Nesmith embark on a joint tour. Originally formed to star in a TV show that cashed in on the British Invasion of the the late 1960s, The Monkees managed to score several pop hits, including "I'm a Believer," "Last Train to Clarksville" and "(I'm Not Your) Stepping Stone." In the summer of 2016, they augmented the tour with their first full studio album in decades. "Good Times!," produced by Adam Schlesinger of Fountains of Wayne, saw them perform new material written for them by fans such as Schlesinger, Andy Partridge of XTC, Rivers Cuomo of Weezer, Paul Weller & Noel Gallagher, and Ben Gibbard of Death Cab for Cutie. There's also a posthumous Davy Jones song, the Neil Diamond-penned "Love to Love," recorded in 1967 and resurrected with new backing vocals by Dolenz and Tork.
